still dreaming.

For me, it's about more than a flag. But its symbolism doesn't hurt. I'm on both sides of this revolution, advocating for equity, equality and civil liberties for black people while subscribing to the same activism for the gays - in addition to dismantling the ideology of homophobia by intercepting ignorance with education.

I'm black and I'm gay.

It's impossible for me to choose one over the other. They aren't entities that can be amputated with doctors orders. So it only made sense to take the 2-parts of me that I cherish the most and merge them into an emblematic format that illustrates and exclaims their relationship through syllogism.

The march on Washington, D.C. on 8/28/20 is one of commemoration and homage for Martin Luther King, Jr. who courageously lead the same path on 8/28/63, on the same grounds, for the same general causes: jobs for black people, freedom for black people and equality for all. 1963. That's when he left fear at the door and delivered his iconic "I Have A Dream" speech in front of a quarter-million people. He made history that day.

The sad part about history repeating itself is, here we are 57 years later, still dreaming.
